This 18 carat rose gold ring is set with a row of 5 rubies and 8 tiny sparkling diamonds. It was crafted in the 1950ties. Rubies are the hardest stones after diamonds and sapphires. The ruby red colour is often represented as blood and therefore attained a special significance in the context of religious and papal jewellery. The stone represents both power as well as good health. But in the 16th century the stone was bestowed potent powers of regeneration within the alchemist tool box. It was thought to be a restorative force.
