In this Art Nouveau necklace all the elements of pure Art Nouveau naturalism can be found. In the golden rose hip flowers, with its leaves interweaving the frame beneath it. In the upside down typanum shaped panels the rose hip climbs through.

There are three main panels to the necklace, each connected by a small chain with pearl. Beneath the main panel, another pearl is dangling.

The Art Nouveau begins around the turn of the century, before the First World War, and leads it into the interbellum, the time between the two great wars.

The Art Nouveau style is defined by its motives derived from nature. In this piece it can be recognised by its plantlike swirls and flowery patterns. The period itself is also knowns for the romantic portrail of long-haired nymph like female figures.  This brooch represents nature and life in all its beauty.
