This antique gold and Lapis Etruscan Style pendant is a rare object indeed. Hidden in its rim, behind its golden studs, is a mechanism allowing it to open. Inside a locket is revealed with a small glass panel to protect a photo, a flower or a lock of hair. The fire gilded belts on the exterior, a technique no longer used because of it toxicity, makes the 18k gold appear deeper and less shiny, in beautiful contrast to the lapis stone semi globes they appear to hold together.
